*squeeeeeeeeal!*

OMGOMGOMGILOVETRANSFORMERSLOVELOVELOVETHEMSOVERYMUCHSQUEEEEEEEEAL!

Ahem. Okay, better now. So, I took a half day off of work so I could get the matinee of the Transformers with my husband and son (daughter will be seeing it with her boyfriend later tonight, she had to work.)

Now, I am sure there will be some diehards who will bitch about something or other with it. And I am sure there are the clueless critics who simply are not the sort who will get them ever. But for myself... this is by far the better of the two Transformer movies purely for the story.

Don't get me wrong, the graphics were absolutely freaking awesome. They did it well, though a little much with the camera spinning nonsense. (I should not get car sick in a movie theater seat.) But the combat and stuff did not look fake or matted in at all. And there was depth of story that there wasn't in the first movie. But it's the sort of story that only those who embrace the essence of the Transformers would truly appreciate.

I am curious what the story of the third movie will be like.

Just wow

If my daughter could only apply her skill to something to make a living at... She did this freehand, no tracing or anything.

More dragons!

Yes, I'm thoroughly entertained with the Dragon Cave website. My friend, who had designed http://www.sotidragon.net, had been kind enough to get me several dragons... an autumn seasonal, a gold, a silver, and a Christmas holiday dragon. My silver finally decided to breed me another one today, I've been able to breed several autumns and now getting winters since the winter solstice, and I actually caught a holiday dragon for my son in the hourly drops. Yay! Dwaggins!

Cool artwork

So, I read this online comic called The Dreamland Chronicles and the author had a comment about a guy who does artwork for his kids on brown paper lunchbags. He apparently does these things on his lunchbreak everyday, and they are freaking awesome.

Lunch Bag Art is highly recommended. Check it out. Man. I wish I were half that good.

Dragon Cave fanatics

So, while the DCFanSite website is down, I found another that is very similar and I think it's rather pretty.

One more go

Tiewaz's Dragons

So, trying this one more time with the dragons. The hatchling already died once. Apparently their survival as eggs and hatchlings depends on how many times they're viewed and clicked on and stuff. If the hatchling dies again, I'm abandoning the rest of the eggs and closing the silly account down. Bleh. It was cute at first. I just want my dragons.

Why we make laws about everything

So, I am listening this morning to this ongoing story from my own home county of Lebanon, PA, about the pistol packing soccer mom.

The saga started when parents complained about this 5 year old girl's mother wearing a sidearm openly. It was legal, as she had a permit, but she would not put it away. So the sherrif revoked her permit. Long and short of it, she went to court and got it back, and plans to keep wearing it even at her 5 year old's soccer games.

Can you see the impending legislation on this? All because she has no consideration for others' feelings and discomfort around weapons? Feh.

My thoughts on the US legal drinking age

There was a news article about how some university presidents have been speaking up about saying the 21 year drinking age should be lowered to 18 years of age. One of their arguments is that it would cut down on underage binge drinking. Of course, MADD is all up in arms, saying that it would only increase the number of alcohol related deaths. I have two basic thoughts on the matter.

Prohibition: It didn't work then, it's not working now. It's better to teach responsibility than to treat people like idiots. They might actually, gasp, behave responsibly! Besides, rebellion ain't any fun if it's not against the rules.

At age 18, you can vote, you can gamble, you can have sex, you can enlist in the military and go die for your country. Either lower the damned drinking age, or raise the damned enlistment age. Pick one. Because by God, if you can get limbs blown off in Iraq or Afghanistan, you freaking need a drink. :P

Hello out there

So, it's been ages since I've posted. I haven't even really looked at LJ for a while. Not that I do not enjoy keeping in touch with my friends. I do and I should. But I feel badly that most of the time when I post, it's uncreative or depressing. So. I'll try to peek in more often, but I likely will not be posting much if at all. Sorry. Love you all.

Happy New Year!

Well, it's the start of another year. 2008. Dear gods, where does the time go anymore? I could wax all thoughtful and stuff, but eh. There's enough of that going around.

Hope every one of you had a good holiday and that the coming year treats you well.

Mad giggles for everyone

Now, I'd been in a sour mood all damned day today. It took me a while, but I found something that made me giggle.

Evolution of Dance

And then I found something that made me giggle more.

WoW evolution of dance

And then I found something that made me near pee myself.

WoW Blood Elf Dance

World of Warcraft Dance Montage: Horde Version

I'm *almost* tempted to try this WoW thing, but I doubt it'd be as cool as these things make it out to be. But damn. Funnyfunny stuff.
